Who is the most famous or infamous person I’ve ever met?
People expect a name—some celebrity, some politician, some internet sensation.
But the truth still sends a shiver down my spine.
It was a man who walked without applause, without cameras, without a crowd.
A soldier.
Not “my friend.”
Not just one uniform.
A son of every house. Husband of every wife. Father of every child.
I met him after the New Delhi blast—when the city smelled of smoke, metal, and fear.
People were running away from the site… he was running into it.
His boots splashed through blood-mixed water.
Shards of glass everywhere.
Screams echoing.
Phones ringing from pockets of bodies that could no longer answer.
Most of us remember the news.
He remembered the faces.
When I asked him why he didn’t pick an easier life—a life of festivals, family dinners, laughter—he said:
“Every soldier wants a normal life. But someone must stay awake, so the country can sleep.”
Terrorism is slowly chewing the roots of our society—fear, hatred, division, brainwashing, destruction.
While we debate online, complain, argue…
Someone’s son is guarding the border,
someone’s father is searching a bomb-ridden street,
someone’s brother is counting bullets instead of birthdays.
A soldier is not here to die for the nation.
He is here to live for the nation—every second, every breath, every heartbeat.
And yet, the scariest thing isn’t the blast.
The scariest thing… is how quickly we forget.
Tonight, wherever you are—India, USA, Europe—it doesn’t matter.
Safety is a privilege delivered to you by people who risk everything.
They too have joys.
They too have dreams.
They too have families waiting at the door.
But they choose duty.
If a soldier can risk his entire life for strangers, what stops us from protecting our country in smaller ways?
- Speak up against hate
- Stand united
- Report suspicious activities
- Guide youth away from radicalization
- Support families of martyrs
Let this post be a lamp.
Better—light a real lamp tonight.
For those who fought.
For those who fell.
For those who guard our tomorrow.

We cannot stop terrorism with bullets alone…
But we can break its spine by standing together.
Are we ready?
